REBEL / EMPIRE is an editorial research project about rebellion, resistance, cognitive liberty, archetypes, concentrated power, cultural dissent, and the ethics of refusing authority. It aims to make difficult conversations more precise rather than easier to censor or romanticize.

Why the site exists
The project begins from the view that honest conversation about rebellion, resistance, defense of the individual, surveillance, institutional power, and controversial historical movements is increasingly important in an AI-mediated information environment.
It rejects the idea that difficult subject matter should be flattened into either propaganda or prohibition. The goal is analysis with enough freedom to understand the rebel’s point of view and enough discipline to keep people from disappearing inside the metaphor.

The hard boundaries
Civilians are not legitimate targets. Collective guilt is rejected. The site does not provide attack planning, target selection, weapons instruction, offensive cyber intrusion, biological-harm guidance, sabotage, evasion, or a declaration that current conditions justify violence.
Those limits coexist with a refusal to pretend armed resistance has no place in history or ethical debate. Understanding is not the same thing as operationalizing.
