AI can accelerate both cyber offense and defense. Human defenders cannot manually inspect every event in a large digital environment. Autonomous systems can prioritize anomalies, identify software weaknesses and generate candidate remediation much faster than manual workflows.

The same scaling pressure exists on the offensive side, creating a continuing competition between automated probing and automated resilience.
